Soaring® Tree Top Adventures, located in Durango, Colorado, is the largest, longest and safest zip line canopy tour course in the world. 34 platforms, over 24 spans ranging from 56 to 1,400 feet and several unique elements to get into and out of the trees make up the zipline course.

Soaring® lasts for an exhilarating 5 hours. During your adventure you will soar over a mile and a quarter of zipline spans, stop for a water/snack break, and have time to enjoy a four-course gourmet lunch in the trees. Soaring® is a great outdoor activity for families, grandparents with grandchildren, corporate groups and adventure seekers looking for a unique Colorado adventure.

Soaring® has also incorporated an eco-tour into the day, to further enhance your exciting day at Soaring®. Eco Ranger specialists are in the trees and on the course to talk to guests about the unique old-growth forest and its inhabitants, and to discuss sustainable, eco-friendly habits that Soaring® has incorporated to reduce its footprint that guests may want to consider at home.

Soaring Canopy Tours® is open 7 days a week from May 14 through October 17, 2010.

The cost of your full day Soaring® adventure is $429/pp and includes your your round-trip, First Class train transportation in Soaring's® new private luxury cars, a full day of Soaring®, a four-course epicurean lunch served on an elevated platform in the trees, your Sky Ranger guides, a complete eco-tour with our Eco Rangers while out Soaring®, and all of the equipment required to participate in Soaring®. Please note there are no extra fees, taxes, tips or additional costs. Soaring® has a strict no tipping policy.

How to Get to Soaring Canopy Tours®

There are no roads to Soaring® Tree Top Adventures. Guests ride the Durango & Silverton Railroad to access our remote property, offering two adventures in one day. Soaring® will make your train reservations in our First Class train cars for your Soaring® date.

The minimum weight for Soaring® is 50 pounds, and the maximum weight is 265 pounds. Ages 5-91 have participated in Soaring’s® zip line canopy tour.

Children must be able to operate independent of their parents on the zipline course.

Physically, anyone who is able to walk, sit in a harness, climb stairs, and do some uphill hiking in a forest can participate in our canopy tour. Sky Rangers handle all your equipment, so mild upper body strength is all you need for gripping, and no climbing or zipline experience is necessary. Soaring® is not wheelchair accessible.

Non-Soaring® Friends and Family Members

If you are traveling with others who will be Soaring®, but you will not be participating, you have two options:

Non-Soaring Day Guest ($199) - Day Guests take the train to Soaring® and follow along from the ground, take photos during the first few spans of the course, have lunch with the group and walk along a riverside path during the river section of the course.

Continue up to Silverton ($169) - Ride the D&SNGRR with your group, in Soaring's® First Class train cars, the Tall Timber Legend and Tall Timber Legacy, and continue on the train to Silverton for the day. Since Soaring's® train cars are open seating, choose where you prefer to sit in our cars. .
